We’ve been working hard over the last few weeks saving wood from projects all over the Northeast to be able to meet the demand of our customers. Updates to our inventory include: maple, oak, spruce, fir, and heart pine timbers.
Some of the nicer wood, like these oak pilings fished out of Boston Harbor, are sent to our sawmill Antique Lumber Co. in Lancaster County, PA. Here, they are resawn and stickered to air dry for several years before they become a finished product.
These pilings held up to the extremes of a harsh marine climate for well over 100 years, and for the right person, they’ll be protected for another 100 years or more as a beautiful floor, wall paneling, or piece of furniture. It’s a process we’ve grown to love.
